Hi, my name is Omar Sarreal and I am a third year Public Health Policy major, with a minor in education. I was born and grew up in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. I love music, art, sports, and being around people with positive vibes.
Growing up with a Filipino family, my parents taught me discipline, respect, hospitality, and most importantly to always stay humble. My family has been the greatest supporters in my life. Learning from my mistakes and the lessons my parents instilled in me made me become the man I am today. My parents are always there for me, pushing me to succeed to my fullest potential.
Another important part of my life that definitely had the greatest influence, is my lovely girlfriend. We’ve been together since the 9th grade in 2010, it’s been six years, but she still never fails to make me smile. She’s taught me so many things like seeing the brighter side of life when I look at everything with pessimism.
Lastly is a group of people that I can genuinely call brothers. Coming in to UCI as a first year, I had very little friends and wasn’t the best at socializing. Meeting my friends helped me to open up and be myself. The bond of trust and loyalty I feel with this group of people truly surpasses a bond of just friendship, it truly is a brotherhood. They have helped me to take advantage of the opportunities UCI has to offer.
