Hi my name is Nancy Lu and I’m a third year Psychology & Social Behavior major. I was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. On my spare time, I enjoy doing photography, art, going to museums, eating, and spending time with my friends.

My parents and my sister are one of few influential people in my life and have shaped me into the person that I am today. Although growing up, my parents were really strict and seldom let me go out or hang with my friends. Despite the discipline that I received from my parents, they taught me to be responsible and to work hard for my aspirations. My sister and I were never close due to our age gap, but she is also another adult figure in my life that has taken care of me while growing up.

My friends continue to be one of my biggest influences in my life because they will always be there for me through the hardships. Being a transfer student, it was difficult managing when I’ll be transferring to a UC, but my friends would motivate and push me to reach my goals. My significant other would encourage me through my darkest times and would always love me unconditionally. His impact on my life has taught me that there’s more than meets the eye. Coming into UCI, I was blessed to meet a group of girls I can call my sisters and they have showed me that college can offer so many opportunities. My friends’ existence has showed me that there is so much more to explore in life and so many more things to do.
